Engaged!

My sister Emily got engaged on Friday night we are so excited. We love Matthew. I have tried to move these pictures but for some reason I can't get them in a different order today. So these are obviously of her ring! As she says so "pretty and sparkly" we just can't stop looking at it.

Here she is after I begged her to cancel her meeting last night so she could stop by my house on her way back from Rexburg.

I stole this picture off of Alyse's blog. This is a little bit of a funny story. Alyse posted this picture on her blog Saturday morning stating that one of these couples got engaged last night. Well Saturday night the other couple had gotten engaged too. Congrats to Matthew and Emily and Bob and Alyse. We are excited for both weddings!
Emily will be getting married on April 14 in the Mesa Temple.
Alyse will be getting married on May 22 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Sister Lunch

My sister Emily and I have lunch together once a week. She is going to beauty school at Dallas Roberts. We used to go to a park near her school during her lunch hour. Now that it is cold we just meet at the University Mall. Today I brought my camera. Emily called me around 12:15 and said she hadn't left her school yet. She apparently had some psycho client that had many demands and she had to cut and style his hair during her lunch hour. I left the Mall around 1. My kids had gotten their energy out at the tree house Dino area. Here is Ryan at the Water Ball thing. He loves it. Last week he got soaking wet so this week I just took his clothes off. I think the other people there thought I was a little crazy. He really enjoys it though.
This is Jake in the Dino. He had so much fun today. He made a new friend whom he played with the entire time.

We went to Mark's work afterwards. Emily was finally finished with the nightmare client so she met us there. It is always fun to visit with her. My boys are so happy at Mark's office.

Here's Jake playing Nintendo in Mark's game room. Do you think Mark actually works at work?

Way to Go!

We just got Ethan's progress report back from his school. Ethan got 4 out of 4 on almost everything. He got a 3 on matching the letters with their sounds. We couldn't be more excited. He is doing so well. Mark and I were just wondering how he was doing the night before it was sent home. It is really common for deaf kids to repeat kindergarten. We are hoping that Ethan won't have to. If he keeps doing this well it looks like he can be mainstreamed for all of first grade. Currently Ethan goes to a mainstream AM kindergarten class and then PM he is at the school for the deaf. The progress report was for his AM class.

Crazy Boys!

So I know I haven't blogged in a really long time. I am feeling a little overwhelmed trying to catch up on all the holidays. So I am just going to be brief and say we loved them all. We went to AZ on the 26. ON the 27 Mark and I went to Rocky Point, Mexico with out kids! Thanks mom and dad. We spent about 3 days in AZ after that. We had lots of fun playing games and doing whatever else my parents had planned. We also got to spend time with some college friends. I was also able to meet one of my high school friends at the park with our kids. It was so nice!

Here is a video of Ryan. He lately feels the need to pose for all pictures. I have two really quick clips so I will just post them both.

Funny Story about Ethan! Yesterday as I was waiting to go into sharing time for primary with my class I saw Ethan sitting with his class and he had his arm around a girl?! I talked to the girl's mom to see if she saw and she hadn't but she saw them holding hands on the way to thier primary class! After church I asked Ethan about this girl. I asked him her name. He said I don't know. Then he said. She's kinda pretty and cute.

Haha I hope he learns the girl's name before he gets any more action. True Hemingway, a little charmer :)

Best Night of My Life!

Well for those of you who know me well I am a huge Neil Diamond fan! He came in concert to SLC on my birthday December 19. I really wanted to go but we didn't buy tickets. Well about two weeks before my birthday my dad sent me and email that said Happy Birthday JanaRae ~ Sorry Mark! Then there was a link to print two tickets to the concert. We had row 7 seats 5 and 6. I don't know how my dad did it. It was AMAZING! We kept walking down lower and lower. I was in total shock as we got to guards at the floor. We showed them our tickets. WE then got a wrist band and escorted to our seats. WOW! It was first class. AS soon as we sat down two ladies who were sitting more center stage asked if we would trade them seats. HECK YES WE WOULD! Our seats were next to one of the lady's son. There were also two half rows on the side. So we really only had 5 rows infront of us. In this picture you can see that there really aren't that many people in front :) Keep in mind we had no zoom on the i phone camera so this is really how close we were. I know I am still in shock!
So my first words as Neil walked out on stage were "He is so old." However he's still got it! I really thought since the concert was so close to Christmas he would be singing a few Christmas songs but those were not his picks of the night. He sang Lots of songs from the "Hot August Night" CD. He sang a lot of old songs such as Brooklyn Roads, Shilo, I'm a Believer, Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans (I swear he looked at me during this song, I was the first one out of my seat as soon as I heard the music), Coming to America, You don't bring me Flowers, Craclklin' Rosie and much more. It was fabulous! Mark is not much of a dancer at concerts. He watches a concert just like he would watch a movie. I was so greatful to the lady sitting next to me who would dance. We sure had fun together. Mark was a good sport and stood up everytime I did. We were not allowed to bring cameras in. However Mark's phone has a camers so this is the best we could get. Thanks so much Dad for making my birthday the best one ever!

Breakfast With Santa

Mark has been working really long hours for the past two weeks. He had his finals week and then a crazy work week. He told me he was going to work today (Saturday) and I thought I would plan a fun filled day for me and the boys. We started off with breakfast with Santa. Due to the snow we didn't get much further than that. I wanted to go up to Gardner Village where they let the kids make ginger bread house for free (at least that is what I read on the Internet) and then the Salt Lake Library was doing The Grinch Stole Christmas. The snow was pretty bad north of the point of the mountain. So after breakfast with Santa and an hour in the kiddy land, for Ethan and Jake, we came home.
So this is the first Santa that I have taken my kids to this year that was in the traditional Santa suit. The rest have all been in his workshop outfit LAME!

Here's Ryan enjoying some chocolate milk.

Ethan and Jake more interested in the movie than their breakfast.
